Cold Blood was an ambitious five-day project was for the Unity Neon Challenge in early 2018, with the primary objective of demonstrating the cutting-edge real-time cinematic capabilities of Unity through an engaging and captivating real-time film.

The project transports viewers to a thrilling cityscape inspired by deco style, immersing them in the midst of a mysterious crime case. Through a thoughtfully crafted sequence of scenes, the viewer is taken on a quick journey that gradually unravels the events and provides a clear understanding of the story.

For this project, we embraced the theme of a dystopian city, where the environment and lighting effectively portrayed a lonely atmosphere reminiscent of a storm-ridden metropolis engulfed in thick smog emitted by industrial factories.

The carefully chosen color scheme, predominantly featuring golds, greys, and browns, served to emphasize the bleakness of the surroundings, effectively capturing the essence of an unhappy environment

In addition to the visual elements, sound played a crucial role in the film, serving to immerse the viewers in the scene and enhance their understanding of the narrative. The strategic use of sound effects not only provided context to the unfolding events but also helped populate the environment. The sound of vehicles passing by and the rhythmic patter of raindrops contributed to the atmospheric soundscape, filling the environment with a sense of bustling activity. Furthermore, the frantic flapping of pigeon wings conveyed a sense of urgency, allowing the viewers to grasp that something had gone awry.
